The reserve overlooks a deep, bowl-like escarpment that traps thick morning fog in its basin. I arrived to heavy, low cloud cover and waited for nearly an hour as the dawn developed. Right as the sun began to rise, the wind picked up and parted the clouds, letting the first golden rays break through and 'charge' the valley of fog below. It created one of the most breathtaking sunrise scenes I have ever witnessed.
